Curved Velvet Sofa, 1950s

Constructed of solid wood, a sinuous spring seat deck with new 6 1/2" medium density foam [deleted coil springs] throughout. This sofa has no makers marks or ID and is suspected to have been custom made in the 1950s or 60s, based on construction. Newly upholstered in a "nugget" coloured mohair like velvet [clean with vacuum or brushing only] composed entirely of polyester with a double rub count exceeding 100 000.

While this sofa has been carefully restored, it is 60-70 years old and still retains elements of it being - likely - hand made. I.e. the backrest does not butt up perfectly, allowing for a small gap when looking at it dead on [pictured]. Most would solve this with throw cushions however we decided to accentuate the sculpture of the sofa instead. No locking mechanism for each side however one can be added if requested.
