20th century "cartoon" tapestry. These "cartoon" tapestries were actually paintings - oil on canvas [earlier cartoons were painted on linen] - to act as a guide for the weavers, often meaning that tapestries woven from referencing these cartoons were a mirror image of the cartoon. As a result, these cartoon tapestries are 1 of 1 and extremely rare. Canvas is in overall good repair with some signs of age appropriate use [pictured] and colours remain vibrant.
